Everything you could need was in walking distance. Not to mention having fresh food daily to prepare your meals.
Now in suburbia, we have to jump in the car, head to the local food chain big box, and stock up on $400.00 worth of groceries. It is just too much of a hassle to do it every day for fresh food.
